Afternoon Tea with the rules and the way we do it!!!!

Afternoon tea is a very old tradition that started in the United Kingdom in 1840 from the fourth duchess Anna Marie of Bentford who is
a very good friend of  Queen Victoria .The Queen Victoria adopted the duchess's idea of afternoon tea  and has since become a tradition.Afternoon tea is served silk 4.00 and 7.00 in the afternoon.

I love the tea and especially the afternoon tea and the English tradition so I always try to have a variety of tea at home. This habit I have passed through to my daughters who adore the finesse and etiquette. Here's my little princess in afternoon tea.

Let's see what rules exist when we are at a tea meal.      - -  -  - - -                  1-There is a myth which says that first we pour the milk after the tea into the cup. This does not apply and this is confirmed by the former butler of the king's palace

of Bhankhamam. In the old years the cups were made of clay and did not stand the hot tea, they first poured the milk and after the tea.But since the china has made the porcelain that resists the hot food here is no problem putting the tea first after the milk.Queen Elizabeth of England has it in her own rules that first of all tea after milk.So this is the first rule!!

(in the case where we put lemon in the tea do not pour milk)     2-When we drink the tea, we only make it in a sign of the cupand in this way we eliminate the smear of the cup with lipstick.                                                                                                                         3-Always put the tea in a teapot and then in the cup and not directly from the device we boil.                                                                                                                4-Afternoon tea is always accompanied by cakes and salty small sandwiches that we have prepared before.

5-Never forget that when we drink tea the fingers embrace the cup by the handle and the two last fingers are sitting under the cup.

6-When we drink tea, the gaze is always down watching the cup and not the guest.                                                                               These for today and have a beautiful Sunday.                                      Xo......Anila------ Thank you for visiting my blog.
